Siggy’s Good Food Closes in Belmont Neighborhood

Spot moved from NYC to Charlotte last fall

Sad news for fans of Belmont’s all-organic neighborhood café: Siggy’s Good Food closed on Sunday after less than a year in business. The little jewel box, which earned a spot on Charlotte magazine’s list of 25 best new restaurants earlier this year, served organic sandwiches, salads, smoothies, and juices with a Mediterranean flair. Owner Siggy Sollitto, a native of Israel, opened the first Siggy’s in Brooklyn more than 20 years ago.

Charlotte Business Journal reported the restaurant’s assets, including all equipment and furniture in the building, are listed at $155,000, and Sollitto cited personal matters for her decision to close. No word yet on what will replace the restaurant.
