A perennial is a plant that continually re-blooms. Basically, it will bloom during a certain season, then go dormant during its inactive season, then re-bloom again in its active season. The best part about perennials is that you don't have to keep replanting them like you do with annuals, which only have one-year life spans. Perennials, on the other hand, can live for years and years as long as you care for them correctly.
There are quite a few stunning perennial varieties that are long-blooming. As they come back out in the summer, you'll be able to enjoy these long-blooming flowers for many months on end until they go back to sleep for the winter.
