‘The Beautiful People’ Event Returns for Second Year

When The Beautiful People: Part Deux takes place tomorrow (Thursday, August 11), you can expect “all kinds of hidden treasures,” the organizers say. And I believe them. I attended the inaugural event last year at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse and was pleasantly surprised and impressed ("’Beautiful People Event’ Was a Good Look"). This time around, the event will be held 6-10 p.m. at Georges Brasserie, located at 4620 Piedmont Row Drive inside Piedmont Town Center in SouthPark.
The theme for the event is Treasure Chest and it’s all about jewels and jewel tones. The evening will kick off with a cocktail hour for networking, leading up to the highlight of the night, which will be the fashion show. And throughout the event, attendees will be pampered with hand and foot massages (this was a hit last year), a jeweled nail bar by Siditty Kitty Boutique, a sparkly lip gloss bar by Impact Cosmetics, and plenty of photo opportunities. There will also be an Oyster and Pearl Dig, where guests will be able to purchase oysters individually for charity and one lucky winner will find the pearl. A portion of proceeds will benefit The Red Pump Project-Charlotte and its fight against HIV/AIDS.
The event is being put on by a team of stylists, make-up artists, and designers, who collectively go by The Family Conglomerate (including T. Strong a.k.a. Style Mayvin, who will host the event, Joy Randall from Flawless Makeup Art, Johnatha Camp of Eventions by J Camp, and Ezekiel Cheney of Zeek & Company). This group of fashionistas put on a stylish event last month, called Sole to Soul, at the Harvey Gantt Center. Watch this video recap of the event below.
