The Beer Growler celebrating one-year anniversary Saturday

The Beer Growler's one-year anniversary party is this Saturday at 2 p.m.

It was last July when Charlotte’s first growler store first threw open their doors, ready to fill 32-ounce, 64-ounce and other growlers via 45 taps. The Beer Growler is celebrating one year of filling growlers with a special anniversary party this Saturday.

Since opening, The Beer Growler has evolved into a local must-stop where you can not only get growler fills, but also enjoy flights of your favorite beer. It was also great to see the SouthEnd store add cans and bottles, as their selection boasts a solid local and statewide representation.

As part of the celebration, there will be food and games … but of course, you want to know about the beer, right? It’s been advertised that more than 30 exclusive beers will be tapped for the anniversary party, including local favorites in Birdsong’s Turtles on Pterodactyls and Triple C’s Chocolate Covered Pretzel Stout, with others such as Foothills’ Bourbon Barrel-aged People’s Porter, Raleigh Brewing’s Marooned Rum Barrel-aged Old Ale, Wicked Weed’s Mint Julep, Ass Clown’s Star Fruit Tart, Burial’s Gradasa Imperial IPA and Bayne’s Honey Wheat also on tap.

While The Beer Growler opens on Saturday at 11 a.m., the special tappings won’t start until 2 p.m and will continue throughout the day.
