The first coach of the Charlotte Hornets, Dick Harter, liked to remind his players that "we were a bunch of guys nobody wanted," recalls Dell Curry, the first player chosen by Charlotte in the 1988 NBA expansion draft.
You wouldn't have known it from inside the Charlotte Coliseum.

A sellout crowd of 23,388, the first of 364 in a row from 1988 to 1997, gave the NBA castaways a standing ovation after their 133-93 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
