Home cooks and food-lovers alike will relish a visit to The City Kitch, a 12,000-square-foot facility that hosts meetings, team-building events, and parties—plus classes for entrepreneurs. Here, Chef Carrie Hegnauer, senior chef instructor at Johnson & Wales University, heads a team that teaches everything from knife skills to “Food Truck 101.” In “Kids Can Cook” classes, the next generation turns out classic dishes such as tiramisu and chicken cordon bleu. The gleaming demonstration kitchen in the University area can also be rented for food styling and photo shoots.
