The Gray Classic Weekend, Martini and a Makeover, Cirque de Whisky, Daytime Summer Parties, and More – July 17-20

It’s another eventful span of four days in Charlotte, and several of these events are fundraisers, which means you can feel good while you're feeling good.

The Gray Classic (July 17-20)

The central point of this annual event series is the golf tournament, but there are also a handful of social events rounding out the fundraising weekend. Thursday, 5 p.m.: Business Roundtable at Charlotte Chamber of Commerce; Friday, 6 p.m.: Welcome Reception at Tanner’s Bistro & Lounge; Saturday: Golf Tournament and Women’s Empowerment Brunch at The Golf Club at Ballantyne; Saturday, 9 p.m.: Party With a Purpose at Vapiano; Sunday, 10:30 a.m.: Farewell Brunch at Upstream. Science on the Rocks
You might think of Discovery Place as an attraction only for kids, but the Uptown science museum is kicking off a new monthly event series for adults, being held the third Friday of each month. Check out the Alien Worlds and Androids exhibit, engage in a Nerf gun battle, play “Angry Birds in Space” on a giant touch screen, and there’ll be bar games such as giant Jenga and catapult beer pong, and a gravity-defying aerial show from Caroline Calouche & Co. It’s been two years since this festival-inspired EDM party series launched in Charlotte (and has since gone on to travel to other cities).
