The Weekday Roundup: Harry Connick Jr., Discovery Place's Illusion, & Lucero

ATO Records
Lucero comes to Charlotte on Thursday.

MONDAY
NASCAR HALL OF FAME
Off the track, this NASCAR site takes visitors behind the scenes. Stand by the vehicles and artifacts that represent the sport’s history. Free for members, $19.95 for adults, $17.95 for military and seniors, $12.95 for children , Mon-Sun, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. NASCAR Hall of Fame, 400 E. Martin Luther King Blvd.

TUESDAY
AN EVENING WITH HARRY CONNICK JR.
Harry Connick Jr. is the second person in this month’s agenda to have both Emmys and Grammys to boast. The swing/pop singer has also been able to serve as a mentor to up-and-comers on American Idol.

WEDNESDAY
ILLUSION
Illusion highlights tricks of the eye and tactics used by magicians to inspire confusion and wonder. Warped mirrors, dimension-shattering stops, and technology-driven tricks wow visitors as part of the broader exhibit.

THURSDAY
LUCERO + RYAN BINGHAM WITH TWIN FORKS
A night of Americana and alt-country includes the rowdy boys of Lucero, singer-songwriter Ryan Bingham, and newcomers Twin Forks. Like Lucero, members of Twin Forks came to country from the punk scene. That becomes a bit more evident when you see them live.

BONUS PICK (IF YOU WANT SOME COMEDY)
JEFF DYE
Dye has become one of those talking heads you recognize from shows like Guy Code and Money From Strangers. He returns to Charlotte with the simple mission of making ou laugh.
