The annual comic event from Heroes Aren’t Hard to Find is one of the biggest independent conventions in the U.S. Costume contests, panels, comic creator signings, and much more will comprise the three days of the con.
PLAY NINTENDO KIDS TOUR
This kids-oriented tour invites attendees to meet life-size Nintendo characters. Children can also play on a giant video game playground. The three-day event takes place at Northlake Mall.
JEFFERSON STARSHIP
With this anniversary tour, this American rock staple marks “40 Years in Space.” Founder Paul Kantner still leads this psychedelic group.
TAB BENOIT
The celebrated blues guitarist graces the Neighborhood Theatre stage once again. Learn why the Cajun performer has earned three Grammy nominations.
CHARLOTTE NEW MUSIC FESTIVAL: OPEN CHOREOGRAPHER’S NIGHT
Part of the 2014 Charlotte New Music Festival, this event will be held at the Arts Factory at Johnson C. Smith University.

TIM MCGRAW
McGraw has made the transition from young superstar to country legend, over the course of a decade. Look for a new LP, Sundown Heaven Town, from the singer this fall.
SAY ANYTHING
The emo outfit, led by Max Bemis, is joined by You Blew It and The Front Bottoms, for this stacked line-up. If you didn’t catch the latter two play Charlotte earlier this year, you have a second chance to make things right.
CHARLOTTE NEW MUSIC FESTIVAL: NEW MUSIC OPEN NIGHT
One of the looser events within the festival, musicians can premiere new pieces or anything they’d want with this event. Petra's Piano Bar & Cabaret is the perfect backdrop for this type of event.

SUMMER POPS: INSTRUMENTAL OPERA
Instruments go it alone with this performance of popular opera tunes. As with other Pops nights, attendees will recognize the pieces from popular media, like TV, radio, and film.
CHARLOTTE NEW MUSIC FESTIVAL: LOUDBANG ENSEMBLE
The chamber music group from New York City makes an appearance during the ongoing festival. Hear new works performed on bass clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and a baritone voice.
