Tickets on sale for 9 to 5: The Musical
Congratulations on surviving your Case of the Mondays–hopefully the fever is subsiding, and you’re ready to hear about the national tour of Broadway’s 9 to 5: The Musical, based on the 1980 Jane Fonda movie based on the book by Patricia Resnick.
Tickets are now on sale at blumenthalcenter.org for this Tony-nominated slapstick comedy about the banalities of professional life. Violet, Judy, and Doralee are fed up with the corporate grind, the possessed office Xerox machine, and, above all, their obnoxious boss, Franklin Hart, Jr. The disgruntled employees decide to reclaim the office by showing their boss who’s really in charge. The ensuing antics, directed and choreographed by Tony-nominated Jeff Calhoun, are sure to get stuck in your head (thanks mostly to a score composed entirely by the ever-catchy Dolly Parton).
While we may have fueled your fantasies of office sabotage, we’d recommend putting the coup d’état on hold for a couple months, until the conspiring ladies of Consolidated, Inc., at the Ovens Auditorium from October 5-10, can show you how professionals do it.
