Trend on Trial: Aggressive Leather Strappy Sandals
So, here’s the thing. I LOVE a good statement shoe. I think it’s super fun when the first thing I notice about a person’s outfit is their uberfabulous footwear. I have absolutely no problem with a pair of knockout shoes. However, as lady with larger than average feet (and, if we are going to be honest, wider than average as well), I am vehemently AGAINST any sort of bondage-inspired leather prison. You know what I am talking about: these, or these, or these, or these, or these.
Not only do I imagine that these styles would pinch the sides of my (ahem, wide) feet until I am squealing in pain, their flamboyance would undoubtedly draw attention to the size of my foot in general (ahem, large). But then again… I’d hate to miss out on the chance to own a pair of, “Woah, those are awesome!” shoes just because I am terrified of a particular trend. So, I have gone on an online hunt to find shoes that have the essence of this aggressively strappy trend, but re-interpreted and re-imagined into something a bit more, dainty and down-to-earth, and therefore less likely to cause anyone to run away from me screaming ” OH MY GOD IT’S A REAL LIVE BIGFOOT!”.
