Video Premiere: Bombadil's "Have Me"

Check out a live version of a song from the band's latest LP

Durham folk-pop act Bombadil released its latest album, The Metrics of Affection, in July. Today, the Revue blog is premiering a never-before-seen, live video of "Have Me," the sixth track on the record. After the video, check out the band's statement, a video interview about the song, and what's ahead for Bombadil. The band can be found on Facebook, Twitter and bombadilmusic.com.

Statement from Bombadil:

"The initial idea for 'Have Me' begin when Stuart was having a conversation with Daniel's wife Angeline, who is French, about her difficulty hearing contractions in spoken English. The differences in phonetics between 'have' and 'haven't,' 'can' and 'can't' are subtle, but the difference in meaning are profound. That seed of an idea led to considering the differences between what you can and can not have in a relationship, and ultimately an encouragement to accept and embrace that which is front of you.

"We tracked the piano and lead vocals for the album version of this song at Sound Pure Studios, which is just down the street from the house where we recorded the rest of Metrics of Affection. The basic tracks for 'Have Me' and the vocals and piano for 'What Does It Mean?" were the only things we didn't track ourselves for the record. We then took the 'Have Me' tracks to our home studio and our friend Elizabeth Marshall added a cello part (a part that James plays live on the bass) and Daniel and James sang some harmonies, and that was that."
