Wachovia Weddings No More

Wells Fargo/Wachovia has been trying to quietly divorce itself from the wedding industry. In the past, when a bride booked one of the bank’s locations (The Green, The Atrium, or The Plaza), she was provided with an on-site event planner. Wells nixed the coordinator for weddings but still makes it available for nonprofit and corporate clients. A Wells spokeswoman says it’s so it can focus on "supporting the community," but it has brides and wedding planners angry. "I don’t know how a venue could operate without a point person," says wedding planner Dina Blazek. Looks like Wells and weddings aren’t exactly a match made in heaven.
