Weekend Social Events (March 31-April 3)

We’ve officially entered outdoor-drinking weather, y’all. Mind you, most of us already knew that, but Charlotte officially acknowledges it this weekend with the return of Alive After Five. Enjoy your half year of drinking and partying outside, starting now, Charlotte. See y’all out there!

Thursday, March 31

The monthly networking event takes Red Clay Ciderworks by storm tonight. Break out the business cards, get ready to do some talking and enjoy the fine city in which you live, Charlotte. The event is free and begins at 6 p.m. at 245 Clanton Road.

Alive After Five
The city’s largest seasonal weekly happy hour returns tonight. Groove Town is the band of choice for the season’s kick-off event. The free weekly happy hour is on the roof of the EpiCentre, 210 E. Trade St. Hello, spring!

Friday, April 1

Wine Night Stand
Get it? Like “one-night stand” but with wine. So clever. Welcome spring with open arms tonight at Suite, 210 E. Trade St., as the nightclub serves five different springtime wines for just more than $32. The event is from 9:30 p.m. until 11 p.m., which means you’ll need to drink a glass every 18 minutes to stay on course. Buy your ticket here

Lucky Dog Bark and Brew Grand Opening
We’re still not quite sure what this place is. It’s a full sports bar but also a dog boarding facility. Think Dog Bar if you leave without your dog. The free grand-opening event will feature live music, food trucks, giveaways and more. The “pawty” is at 2220 Thrift Road. Hours vary.

South End Gallery Crawl
On the first Friday of each month – that’s today, by the way – the galleries of South End open their doors for a free gallery crawl. Locations and hours vary, but go here for more information.

Saturday, April 2

Beer Me Brewfest
With nearly 30 breweries and cideries sampling their brews, this annual festival should be at the top of any beer-lover’s list. A $30 ticket gets you unlimited sampling from 1:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., a tasting glass and access to live music and games. The event is at Slate Billiards, 200 E. Bland St. Buy a ticket here

Margarita Wars
We can already feel the headaches from the copious cups of tequila. RuRu’s Tacos and Tequila hosts the first Margarita Wars today from noon until 7 p.m., where 10 bars battle it out for title of best margarita. Get your tequila-drinking face on at 715 Providence Road. Tickets are about $16. Buy them here.

Spring Food Truck Rally
With more than 20 food trucks here today, this is the food truck rally Charlotte can’t seem to pull back together. Remember the glory of Food Truck Friday at Rural Hill, 4431 Neck Road in Huntersville, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
The Thistledown Tinkers will provide live music for this event that also includes children's activities, ticket giveaways, bounce houses, games, hayrides and more. The event is free except for a $5 per car charge for parking.

Sunday, April 3

La Revolucion welcomes spring and warmer weather with this day party. There’s a special brunch menu, and doors open at 1 p.m., which leaves plenty of time for day drinking. Prices vary, but the party is at 900 NC Music Factory Blvd. Find more information here
