Wine, Dine, Recline to Live Music at Aria

Aria features live music every Friday and Saturday night in its upstairs lounge.

When it’s cold outside, I’ve got the month of May. Despite The Temptations, even if I told that to My Girl she probably wouldn’t believe me. December has been unusually cold in Charlotte, and it’s easy to let those declining temperatures alter your plans. I went to a company Christmas party last night–enjoyed it, had great food, drinks, and conversation. And since I knew it would be winding down early, I’d planned to hit up a lounge afterward. But when walking to my car about two hours and several degrees after I’d arrived to the Christmas party, the wind chill hit me and I said, “Shoot, it’s cold. I’m going home.”

That’s why during times like this, you need to get out somewhere, get warm, comfortable, cozy, and stay awhile. Aria Tuscan Grill is just the place. Every Friday and Saturday night, the trendy restaurant and lounge features live music. So after you’ve enjoyed good dinner and wine, you can simply head upstairs to Aria’s Bar La Scala where a musician performs 8-11 p.m. The artists are usually acoustic guitarists and singers, such as Tom Billotto and Chris Sanchez.

The dimly lit lounge has plenty of comfortable seating, and when mixed with live music and a 125-bottle wine list is a great way to unwind from the work week. Aria Tuscan Grill, 100 N. Tryon St., 704-376-8880, ariacharlotte.com.
