Shopping Updates in SouthPark
The final days of the Southern Season pop-up and a new beginning for Swoozie's

A Taste of Southern Season
In our winter issue of Charlotte Home + Garden, we told you about the pop-up shop from Chapel Hill-based gourmet retailer Southern Season. A Taste of Southern Season opened in November in The Village at SouthPark on Sharon Road. The holiday-themed shop carries many entertaining necessities and novelties, such as cocktail napkins, serving platters and utensils, cheeses, chocolates, and cocktail mixers. The pop-up store is open until Monday, January 5, so this weekend is your last chance to check it out. If you're attending a New Year's Eve party, the shop is a good stop for hostess gifts. If you enjoyed the pop-up shop, you'll be pleased to know that Southern Season plans to open a 50,000-square-foot retail store in Charlotte in 2016, complete with a cooking school and its signature Weathervane Restaurant. The location should be announced in early 2015.
Swoozie's
The Atlanta-based specialty gift boutique chain Swoozie's has opened a location in SouthPark's Sharon Corners. The store marks Swoozie's return to Charlotte after closing its two stores here in 2010. The shop has a hip, trendy atmosphere. From the practical—notepads, stationery, serving platters, and cocktail napkins—to the playful—wine straws, bachelorette sashes, and pink flamingos—Swoozie's has a fun selection. Many items can be customized in the store, such as totes, glassware, jewelry, invitations, and stationery. It's another good stop for hostess gifts or presents for a new mom or bride to be.
