Celebrate seven years at Olde Mecklenburg this weekend

Olde Mecklenburg will have a party celebrating its seventh anniversary beginning this Friday at 5 p.m.

A couple of weeks ago I was chatting with Olde Mecklenburg owner John Marrino for a story I’m currently working on regarding Craft Freedom (more on this next week). We were standing outside in OMB’s massive biergarten, looking over a huge crowd that’s not uncommon for a Friday night. It was at that point where Marrino began to mention the brewery’s early days, adding that he never could imagine what the brewery has grown into.

That growth includes a now-expanded landmark brewery space, numerous award-winning fresh German beer and daily-packed destination for local craft beer lovers – and Charlotte is better for all of it. It’s been seven years since Marrino founded Olde Mecklenburg, and you can join in the celebration beginning this Friday at 5 p.m.

To honor the event, Olde Mecklenburg will once again be releasing its Anniversary Alt. This beer has been brought out the last four years, and is a bigger version of OMB’s flagship Copper. This is a brewery-only release and will last as long as it’s available.

Chuck Johnson and Charlyhorse is the featured band during the party, and will begin performing at 7 p.m. The anniversary celebration will go until 11 p.m., and as always, there’ll be plenty of food inside the brauhaus.

You can find out all the information, including any updates, on OMB’s Facebook event page.
