A select list of New Year's Eve parties in Charlotte where you're guaranteed to have a good time
There are a few times a year when Charlotte shows it really knows how to party. New Year’s Eve is one of those times. Of the dozens of parties going on at venues around the city on December 31, I’ve selected the top 12 (in no particular order), including three where you can party and crash upstairs (luxuriously, that is). As you bid adieu to Twenty-Ten, party like there’s no tomorrow (then the next day, come back here and post in the comments about your experience).*
Annual Black Tie Ball
Celebrate with a balloon drop, confetti cannon, aerial artists, go-go dancers, and more, as you bounce around from two parties. Come dressed to impressed, but expect a wild time. The group that threw the largest parties during CIAA has returned to the massive venue for New Year’s Eve–saying they expect between 2,000 and 3,000 people. With general admission you get access to three bars, red carpet photography, and entry into a raffle. With VIP, you get access to two VIP bars, buffet, and more. It’ll be one of the most happening parties in Ballantyne, as you dance on two levels inside this beautiful theater. Features an open bar and music by DJ Freedom and DJ Justice. 2nd Annual Suite 2011
Digital Divas and The Grays present this upscale party for the second year in a row. Enjoy complimentary valet, a cigar room, hors d’oeuvres, balloon drop, and champagne toast at midnight. New Year’s Eve at Butter
Charlotte’s most sought after nightclub celebrates its first New Year. If you get past the velvet rope, you’ll dance to the sounds of different DJs on the two levels, a live feed of the ball drop from Times Square, and a champagne toast at midnight. 8 p.m. $40 general admission tickets for a limited time. Illuminati – New Year’s Eve Celebration
Some of Charlotte’s most popular party promoters are uniting to bring you this end-of-the-year celebration. Party in two ballrooms and enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and multiple bar stations. South End’s ultra-luxe, private nightclub rolls out the red carpet. Rich and Bennett’s NYE Bash 2011
This legendary party duo throws some of the biggest parties in Charlotte throughout the year (remember St. Patrick’s Day?). Ring in the New Year to live music and DJ Complete playing your favorite songs.
